About the Student Election Commission

The Student Election Commission is constituted of:

• Chief Election Officer (CEO)
• Deputy Election Officer (DEO)
• Student Judicial Commission Members
• Speaker, Student Legislative Council

In order to facilitate smooth functioning, the Student Election Commission selects student coordinators to assist in conducting elections. Applications for this post are open to the entire General Student Body.

Responsibilities include:

• The conduct of all elections prescribed in the Constitution in a free and fair manner
• Issuing and publicizing the Code of Conduct and campaign restrictions
• Arbitration of complaints through the Grievance Committee
• Announce dates and times for:
  • Filing of nominations
  • Withdrawal of nominations
  • Complaints regarding nominations
  • Date of elections
  • Declaration of results
• Specifying procedures for filing and withdrawal of nominations
• Announcing the list of valid nominations and results to the General Student Body
