The Institute Blues Awards are a Gymkhana award given to outstanding graduating students who are high all-round achievers in sports, organisational, cultural & literary, and co-curricular activities. This prestigious award is cherished by the awardees, and is also an input towards selecting winners for the Governor's Prize and the Shankar Dayal Sharma Prize. There are four Blues awards: Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, and Certificate.

Students who wish to be directly considered for the awards are invited to apply. The Awards Committee encourages peer recognition for student achievements, and also requests hostel wardens, student representatives, and members of the student community to identify deserving students, recommend their names (with their roll numbers, degree programme, branch, hostel, and room number) to the Chairman, and encourage them to apply.
